-The Germans break through Dyle Line of defences and the Ardennes and rush to the coast
-they surround approximately 500,000 troops may 17 (17 days)
-the Biritish realized they were surrounded and ordered the navy to put together an evacuation

The fall of Paris:
-the rest of France fell quickly after the dyle alone fell and the british evacuated
-Italy declares war on frnace june 10
-aris falls june 14
-rest of frnace falls june 22
reasons:
-the maginot line proved useless
-Germans used their tanks much better
-Luftwaffe was too strong
-politcial dissension in France- how the war should be fought- then the war was over

Summary
While Germany had surround the British and the French they did not attack while the evacuation took place, saving the British and some of the French. This allowed Britain to fight at a late date.
