-referring to the thousands of Jewish shops and synagogue windows that were smashed and burned

Propaganda and mass rallies:
-Josef Goebbels, the propaganda minister, one of the most powerful men in the Nazi Party
-effected all aspects of German Life
-Aryan race

-organized mass rallies for army and citizens
-Nuremberg night rallies the most famous
-taught to school children
The aryan race and the final solution:
-Hitlers original idea as laid out in Mein Kampf
-aryan thought to be superior beings
-jews made out to be universal scapegoats
-dehumanization
-original Jews were sent to work camps to do maul labour
-july 1941 final solution+ extermination of the Jewsih race a priority
-carried out by Einsatzgruppen a special section of the S.S.
-shooting and burring them was not fast enough
-gas chambers became the popular
-made famous places such as Auschwitz

-holocaust proir to WWII was a term that referred to a burnt offering or destruction by fire
-the first reports to the west came in Jan. of 1942 when the New York times reported 100,000
Jews had been machine gunned in the Baltic States
-July 1944 allied powers got their first eye witness accounts when the Soviets liberated a camp called Majdanek
-1945 Auschwitz is discovered
-it is now believed up to million Jews died during the Holocaust.

Summary
Hitler slowly poisoned the people of Germany into believing that they were the aryan race and that the Jews were to blame for all their problems, which is why the concentration camps came about and by the time they realized what was going on it was too late for many.
