Summary
Sun Yat Sen tried to unify China, from the preexisting warlords. After he died Chiang Kai-Shek became the leader of the Kuomintang and while he wasn't pro-communism, many within his party. He got worried and tried to excile them or kill them off, expect Mao Zedong survived.
